LEE, MUSE, OSBORNE, SEEVERS posted by Kerri Southard on Friday, June 13, 1997

My great-grandmother (b. ~1900) Alice Mae(?) LEE MUSE died in ~1928 after a car accident in OK, but was buried in Prairie Co.,AR. She was married to Thomas Jefferson MUSE (b. ~1900? d.1953 in CA), and their daughter, Lorraine Elizabeth MUSE OSBORNE (b. 1916 d. 1982 in AR) was my grandmother. I would like to get Alice's death certificate from OK but do not have any specific enough info, dates, etc. I am wondering if anyone out there has access to any mortuary, cemetery, or headstone records for Prairie Co. It is said that she was buried in either Lakeside or Whipporwill Cemetery. Alice's parents were Albert(?) "Al", a blacksmith in Des Arc, and Elizabeth "Lizzie" LEE. I am also seeking information on the LEE and MUSE families from the Prairie Co. area, as well as any other areas of AR, OK, or TX. By the way, I am also related to the SEEVERS of Des Arc if anyone out there knows them.

NEWELL posted by Sue Black Perry on Saturday, July 19, 1997

Searching for descendants of Thomas and Mary NEWELL. Thomas died in Randolph Co. in 1838. Mary and children Nathan, Elizabeth, Polly, Pernecia, Uriah James (U.J.) and Thomas M moved to Caroline township, which was in Prairie Co. before 1850. Can't find marriages for any of them. Nathan was in Jefferson Co. in 1860 census. His wife Nancy and children were back in Caroline Twp. by 1870 without Nathan. U.J. NEWELL became a pioneer Baptist preacher. His wife was Laura. Need her maiden name. They lived in Grant Co, then moved to Howard Co. where he died in 1905. Caroline Twp, I believe has been part of Prairie, Lonoke, and Pulaski counties.
