ALISON, ALLISON, ROBINSON posted by John Allison on Wednesday, December 18, 2002

I am looking for information on the ALLISON/ALISON family that are in Arkansas Prairie-Lonoke County on the 1850 Census. I can not locate which area in Tenn that William M. ALLISON and Sally Ann ROBINSON came from or when. They are located next door to Thomas ALISON dwelling 76 & 78 page 304 and Harriet ALISON and children: Nancy 20, Catherine 18, Jefferson Thomas 15, George W. 12, Harriet 7, and Julian Oliver 10. I believe Thomas and Harriet are WIlliam's parents. They were all listed as being born in Tenn. but I can not locate a county or a connection or dates to Tenn. I found Sally and William's marriage in Madison, Tenn., Aug. 20, 1848. I would like to find more information on the family movement to Arkansas. I would appreciate any help in these areas.

This is an update to my family line. Anything sound familiar? William Joseph VANDERGRIFF/VANDERGRIFT married Sarah Jane BARTON, June 1867 in Des Arc. Daughter of Henderson Barton and Matilda Fortner. Their son James (Thomas) is my ggrandfather, he married Laura Ann JOHNSON (DOBBS) Oct 1887 Prairie Co. Daughter of Joseph DOBBS and Mary Erma McKEMY. (Tom) and Laura had these known children: Cordele, Fred, Emma, and Bessie. Fred married Velma WOODS Apr 1931 in Ok, Emma married Frank M. DOOLEY 1909 in Prairie Co. The children were named Andrew and Clyde H. Frank M. and Emma VANDERGRIFF had 3 children, Joseph T, Edith, and Emma L. Russell Gaylord WEDGE and ? had twins, Sarah and Clay. Frank M.
