ACOCK, SANDERS posted by Geraldine Wilson on Friday, September 10, 1999

In 1950 my grandfather Norman "Bud" SANDERS, age 70 married a woman by the name of ACOCK, age 69. This was at a Bill Monroe performance at Des Arc. They were to have gotten a prize as the oldest couple being married in a contest held at that time. But a storm came up and everyone dispersed, leaving my grandfather and his new bride alone, standing in the rain, and not receiving any prize. Does anyone recognize these names or this event?

EDDINS, MALMSTROM, RUSSELL, SPARKS, WHITE posted by Ruth Greenstein on Saturday, September 11, 1999

I am interested in contacting Prairie County, AR descendants of John J. RUSSELL, Axel MALMSTROM, Eliza [Russell] EDDINS, Mollie [Russell] WHITE-SPARKS, Soloman RUSSELL, or Benjamin Franklin [Uncle Frank] RUSSELL. This family moved from TN to AR about 1868 and finally settled near Hazen, AR. Whereas, most of the wives had tombstones in the Hazen Cemetery, most of the men and the small children did not. I was hoping the RUSSELL Family Bible might have missing information. I believe Aunt Mollie or Uncle Frank may have had the the Bible last.
