ARMSTRONG posted by Judy Meredith on Wednesday, October 2, 2002

My great grandfather's brother, Thomas ARMSTRONG, died in Des Arc, Arkansas in Jan. of 1868. He was from Alton, IL. I believe I have found him in "Deaths Abstracted from Earliest Co. Newspapers" Feb 1866-Feb 1869 on the Prairie Co. web site. Can someone tell me how to access the rest of this? I'd love to find out how he died. Thanks!

BLAKENEY, JERNAGIN posted by Martha Blakeney Davis on Monday, October 7, 2002

My Grandparents four times back were James Thomas and Martha Matilda BLAKENEY. Sometime before 1870 they migrated from MS with other family members, and settled on a farm in Des Arc. Both died in 1870, and it is my understanding are buried on that farm. Is it possible to find if land was owned by a BLAKENEY family at that time. Their daughter-in-law, Lucy JERNAGIN BLAKENEY also died there. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated. Martha Blakeney Davis

BARR posted by G McLaughlin on Saturday, November 16, 2002

Any information on William Albert BARR or brother Stephen Douglas BARR. They came from Illinois and were raising rice in early 1900's in the area of Hazen, Arkansas. William had a son named Paul who was on the 1909 Hazen High School baseball team. I think he also had daughters named Hazel and Ethel who never married and maybe died in nursing home in Arkansas. Stephen died in Alabama, buried in Illinois. Assume Albert died in Arkansas, don't know where buried. Stephen is wife's grandfather.

JACKSON, LITTON posted by Patra Carroll on Saturday, November 16, 2002

Hello, Can anyone tell me anything about the ancestors of George Washington LITTON, b abt. 1826. This is what I know so far: married Martha I. JACKSON in Prairie CO 1861, his children (that I can identify so far include: James W. LITTON b abt. 1863; Laura L. LITTON, b. abt. 1866; Elie(?) LITTON, b. abt. 1870, and my GGfather Charles Lyspie LITTON born October 22, 1867. The earliest record I am able to locate on George is the 1850 Prairie Co. census enumerated with Elizabeth LITTON age 58, Green LITTON, age 27, Georgee, age 21, and another individual I am unable to read. I also have identified a Land Patent record in Prairie for George dated 1859 and one for Green dated 1849. It appears that Green died in the early 1850's in Prairie. Can you tell me who George and Green's father is, where he is from, etc. I have access to the Family History Center in Mesa, however I have exhausted all local resources. I will be going to England soon and I want to see if my line connects up with some English research I have found on the Web. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Patra

I would like to know what became of this property? I can find no records in either county.
