Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR Thursday, 16 Nov 1972, pg 4 Rites Held for Mrs. Ida TREAT Mrs. Ida TREAT, 83 of Flippin, died Nov. 11 at the Marion County Hospital. A life long resident of Arkansas, Mrs. TREAT was born March 13, 1889 at Alma, AR, to Charles A. and Sarah (ROLLAND) SPEER. She married William W. TREAT in 1903. Mr. TREAT is deceased. She was a member of the Flippin Christian Church. Survivors are four daughters and three sons, Mrs. Ruby Ann WILLIAMS, Mrs. Elsie WOOD and Mrs. Obetia HUDDLESTON of Flippin; Beatrice BERG, Leavenworth, KS; Sheppard TREAT, Cowiche, WA; Shelby TREAT, Yellville, and Jay L. TREAT, Iola, KS; 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at the Flippin Christian Church with Kyle JEFFERSON and Robert TROSPER officiating. Pallbearers were Charles HUDDLESTON, Donald TREAT, Bobby TREAT, Leamon WILLIAMS, Doyne TREAT and Buddy BERG. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry BERG, Michael TREAT, Gary TREAT, Lloyd TREAT, Selwyn WOOD, and Doyle TREAT. Burial was in the Flippin Cemetery.

Kansas City, Missouri newspaper December 1972 Mrs. Florence B. Neal Mrs. Florence Beatrice NEAL, 60, of 6222 Seminary, died Saturday at Providence Hospital. Born in Marion County, Ark., she lived here 20 years. She was the widow of Dan NEAL, who passed away in 1971. Surviving are three sons, Owen Eugene LEWIS, Kansas City; Walter Eugene LEWIS, Kansas City, and Dale Burton LEWIS, Sault Saint Marie, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Eska GRANTZ, of Kansas City; a brother, Rev. W.E. HAND, Crossett, Ark.; two sisters, Mrs. Libby DEAN, Yellville, Ark., and Mrs. Ruby CAMPBELL, Harrison, Ark.; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Fulton-Nickel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday. **NOTE Florence Beatrice Hand Neal was the daughter of John Hugh HAND and Lillie GENTRY HAND. She was born near Rush, Arkansas and lived in the Yellville area during her early years.

HALL, 79, of Flippin, a lifetime resident of Marion County, died at the Marion County Hospital, Dec. 24. She was born at Buffalo City, June 27, 1894, the daughter of James U. and Drucilla (ROBINSON) HALL [sic, should say MURPHY]. She married Joseph HALL Dec. 28, 1911. He survives. Other survivors are four daughters, Esther DROBE, Leachville, Ark., Ressie I. McCUTCHON [sic], Columbia, Mo., Marie OWENS, Flippin, Ark., and Delbert [sic] WAINWRIGHT, Canadian, Texas; two sons, Silas D. HALL, Arlington, Texas, and Marvin HALL, Defiance, Ohio; three brothers, Pond MURPHY, Jerseyville, Ill., Dewey MURPHY, Drumwright, Okla., and Ellis MURPHY, Whittier, Calif.; three sisters, Nora BLEVINS, Flippin, Ark., Una JOHNSON, Omaha, Nebr., and Bessie RAMSEY, Shell Knob, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the Flippin Assembly of God Church with Rev. Charles DAVIS officiating. Burial was in the Flippin Cemetery. Grandsons were pallbearers.

Hattie STICE Services Held At Summit Hattie E. STICE, age 88, passed away at the Marion County Hospital on January 15, 1973. Mrs. STICE was born on June 29, 1884 to Sam and Nancy (TAYLOR) FORD in Summit, Arkansas. She was a member of the Summit Baptist Church and had lived in Marion County all her life. Her survivors are two daughters, Eva Mae DOVER, Bentonville; Ora CONLEY, Summit; one brother, Henry FORD, Gravois Mills, Mo.; three sisters, Virgie WILLIAMS, Phoenix, Ariz.; Ruby DAVIS, Independence, Mo.; Edith JOHNSON, Summit; 14 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Summit Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 17, 1973 with Dick Hurst and Roy Dunn officiating. Burial was in the Mt. View Cemetery.

He was born Dec 20, 1916, at Flippin to Edward B and Kate (HALL) PARNELL. He was a Veteran of Foreign Wars. Survivors are two brothers, C B PARNELL and Ratio PARNELL, both of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs Beatrice GILLILAND, Wichita, Kans., and Mrs Bernice WOOTON, Conway. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan 19 in the Flippin Christian Church with Rev Robert TROSPER and Rev Hugh MAY officiating. Burial was in the Flippin Cemetery. Pallbearers were Norman BRIGGS, Jackie GILLILAND, Jim ELLIS, Lucian WOOD, Loyne HURST, and A G JOHNSON.

Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR 22 Feb 1973 Rites Held For Thomas J TREAT Funeral services for Thomas Jefferson TREAT, 90, of Route 2, Box 95, Zillah, Wash., who died Jan 26 in Mountain Vista Nursing Home, Toppenish, Wash., were held Monday, Jan 29, at 1 p.m. in Toppenish. Rev E L DUNN and Rev Scott WESTERFIELD officiated. Interment was in Zillah Cemtery. Mr TREAT was born Nov 13, 1882, in Marion County, Ark. He had been a valley resident for the past five years and was a retired general farmer. He is survived by three sons, James A TREAT of Yakima, Wash., John E TREAT of Kansas City, MO, and Robert K TREAT of Zillah, Wash., two daughters, Mrs Mary RORIE of Yakima and Mrs Elva TILLEY of Bull Shoals, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Mr PICKEL was born in Marion County January 31, 1910, the son of William T and Ada (BUNDY) PICKEL. He married Martha GRAY Aug 1, 1937. He had lived in Washington County seven years and prior to that he lived in Benton County. She was a member of the Flippin Christian Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs Martha PICKEL of the home; two sons, Herbert PICKEL, Jr., Tulsa, Okla., and Glenn PICKEL, Russellville; his mother, Mrs W T PICKEL, Yellville; three brothers, Ewell PICKEL, Yellville, Clyde PICKEL, Grandview, Wash., Lester PICKEL, Mountain Home; two sisters, Lucy Mae PICKEL and Neville PICKEL, both of Yellville; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., April 3, at the Flippin Christian Church with burial in Mountain View Cemetery. Rev Bob TROSPER officiated. Rev Billy BURKS will officiate, and interment will be in the Flippin Cemetery under the direction of the Roller Funeral Home. The daughter of George and Mary McGOAN [sic] TREAT, Mrs REEVES was born Aug 25, 1891, and was a lifetime resident of Baxter County. Survivors include two sons, Howard and Eulis RAY, both of Cotter; three daughters, Mrs Helen RORIE of Yellville, Mrs Chlo KELLUM of Gassville and Mrs Mary Lorene ROWE of Cotter; three sisters, Mrs Mary ELROD and Mrs Florida MILLER, both of Arkansas City, Kans., and Mrs Francis IVENS [sic] of Emporia, Kans.; 24 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

A lifelong resident of Marion County, he was born Oct. 28, 1892, son of George and Martha WOOD HALL. He was a member of the Flippin Assembly of God Church. Survivors include two sons, Silas of Arlington, TX, and Marvin HALL of Defiance, OH; four daughters, Esther DRAKE of Leachville, Ressie McCUTCHEON of Columbia, MO., Marie OWENS, Flippin and Delberta WAINWRIGHT of Canadian, TX.; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 at the Flippin Assembly of God Church with Rev. Charles DAVIS officiating. Burial was in Flippin cemetery. Pallbearers were Virgil McCRACKEN, Glenn JOHNSON, Charlie MORGAN, M. H. MORGAN, Ambrose PILGRIM, and Chelch REAGAN.
