Floy E. DOSHIER Floy E. DOSHIER, age 68, of Yellville, passed away at the University of Arkansas Medical Center on March 25, 1986. She was the daughter of Whit and Rosa (DILLARD) DAVENPORT, born in Yellville on March 17, 1918. She was a retired school teacher of House Springs, with the Missouri school system. Suvivors include: one son, David E. DOSHIER, Yellville; one daughter, Barbara "Corky" CRAIG, Yellville; her mother, Rosa DAVENPORT, Yellville; four sisters, Dee EATON, Little Rock; Linda JONES, Green Forest; Obedia DAVENPORT and Almeda LYNCH, both of Yellville; six brothers, Odale, Ward, Glen, Zell, Dwayne and Joe DAVENPORT, all of Yellville; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, Jewell (1949), one sister, Donna and one brother, Loy. Services took place at 2 pm Thursday, March 27, 1986 at the Caney Church of Christ. Interment was in the Caney Cemetery. Doyle Davenport and Rev. Charles Cooper officiated. Pallbearers included: Darrell DAVENPORT, Mike DAVENPORT, Stan uRocky Jones, Ronnie FISK, Lanny DAVENPORT and Larry DAVENPORT. Arrangements were made by Burns Funeral Home of Yellville. Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR 3 Apr 1986 Ruby O BURRIS, age 77, of Flippin, passed away on March 29, 1986 in the Leisure Lodge Nursing Home. She was the daughter of Charlie L and Minnie (WOOD) DAFFRON, born in Flippin on December 22, 1908. Survivors include; Her husband, Owen BURRIS, Flippin; one daughter, Connie LYONS, Gainesville, MO; and two sisters, Della FLIPPIN, Abilene, Texas; and Duff JONES, Flippin. Services took place at the First Baptist Church in Flippin at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 1986. Interment was in the Flippin Cemetery. Rev Steve MARTIN and Rev Ray CANARY officiated. Pallbearers were: Bob JONES, Tom HUDSON, Everett DARDIN, Charles OTT, Don TREAT and Lyle WOOD. Honorary pallbearers were: Rollie CARROLL, Hugh MANN, Howard OTT, and Elbert HUDDLESON. Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR 22 May 1986 Drucilla WHITTEN, age 82, of Monette, Arkansas passed away in the Lane Nursing Home on May 17, 1986. She was the daughter of Tom and Martha (TILLEY) HALL, born on October 4, 1904. Survivors include three step-daughters, Lorene ANDERSON, Evening Shade, AR; Velma HOUT, Peoria Heights, Ill.; Nadine BOLLINGER, Topeka, KS; two step-sons, Marvin WHITTEN, Brookland, AR; Aluis WHITTEN, Mt Morris, Mich.; two sisters, Deruska HOLLOWILL, Granger, Wn.; Savanah OWEN, Peoria, Ill,; three brothers, Alfred, Edgar and Everett HALL, all of Yellville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert WHITTEN, in May of 1980, one sister, Lundy HALL ANDERSON and two brothers, Edward HALL and Wilburn "Doc" HALL. Services took place at the Assembly of God Church in Monette, Arkansas at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 1986.

Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR 11 Sep 1986 Lou PICKEL, 66, longtime Grandview resident died Wednesday, September 3, 1986 at St Elizabeth Medical Center in Yakima, Washington. She was born on February 24, 1920 at Yellville, Arkansas, to Walter and Della BEARDEN. She spent her early years at Yellville, AR and received her education there. On November 8, 1935, she, Miss Lou BEARDEN and Clyde PICKEL were married at Yellville. Following their marriage, they made their home in Yellville. In 1952, they moved to Grandview where her husband was employed by the Perham Fruit Co. She continued to make her home in Grandview until the time of her death. She was a member of the Grandview United Methodist Church. Lou PICKEL is survived by her husband, Clyde PICKEL of Grandview; two sons, Harold PICKEL of Leavenworth, Washington, and Terry PICKEL of Portland, Oregon; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her mother, Mrs Della BEARDEN of Yellville; two sisters, Rosemary JONES and Ethel HALL, both of Yellville; one brother, Fred BEARDEN of Flippin; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Lynn PICKEL who died in June of 1982. Funeral services for Lou PICKEL were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5 in the Chapel of the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. Rev Robert ROSAS of the Grandview United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview.

Mrs TREAT died Tuesday, October 28, 1986, at the Marion County Nursing Home in Yellville. She was born January 28, 1917 to Charlie and Melissa (YOCHAM) BELL. She is survived by her husband John TREAT of Yellville; one daughter, Jorene McCULLAM, Olathe, Kansas; one son, Bob TREAT, Van Buren, Arkansas; three sisters, Cora JONES of Palmdale, California, Caralee FERGUSON and Nora JEFFERSON, both of Yellville; and four step grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Hazel, two girls, Maxine HILLER of Yellville and Jean HILLIBRAND of Willis, Texas; one boy, Jim TUDOR of Yellville; two sisters, Viola MCCLENDON and Vada HAMILTON, both of McAllister, Okla; four brothers, Erby and Clayton of McAllister, Ernest of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Brazz of Lexington, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Services were at the Caney Church of Christ March 5 at 2 pm with ministers Doyle Davenport and Ivy Davenport. Burial was at the Caney Cemetery. Rober, Clarence and Charles ROBINSON, U.D. Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR 13 May 1987 Obeta Bell HALL, a native of Marion County, died Friday, March 27, 1987 at Highland Hospital in Oakland. She is survived by her husband Robert Lee HALL, also a native of Marion County. They have resided in Oakland since their move to California in 1943. Obeta was born at Flippin, Nov 24, 1901, the daughter of Lee and Alice HICKS. The HICKS family owned a successful mercantile store and hotel in Rush, Arkansas during the early 1900's. Obeta also traveled as a woman preacher and musician during her teenage years and early part of her marriage to Robert, who was a teacher and school principal. He was honored by a surprise celebration given by some of his former students during a visit last year to his home town. They were married at the HICKS family home in Rush 65 years ago on Jun 28, 1922. Mrs HALL was a homemaker and member of Bethel Asemblies of God church in Oakland for the past 44 years. She was the mother of Bonnie THORESON of Murphy, NC, Bobbie WENDSCHLAG of Fremont, CA, and the late Sarah Alice BEAVERS, and sister of Juanita TILLEY of Prue, Okla. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were held April 1 at Bethel church with the Rev Ron STECKLY and Rev Harold BOTTS officiating. Graveside service and burial were held at the Lone Tree cemetery in Hayward, CA

Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR 8 Jul 1987 Alfred P DAVIS, 71, of Flippin died July 2 in Flippin. Born October 6, 1915 he was a retired construction worker and a resident of Marion County. He is survived by his wife Jeanette DAVIS of Flippin; one son Donald DAVIS of Flippin; a sister Nellie Mae ANGEL of Yellville and Vernon FITZPATRICK of Oxford. He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Lula Mae DAVIS, two sisters and one brother. Services for Mr DAVIS were held Sunday July 5 at the Flippin Church of Christ with John CAREY officiating. Pallbearers were: Larry BLASDEL, Larry BLASDEL, Jr., Clabe PRESLEY, Larry HURST, Tommy ANGEL and Mike WOOD. Burial was in the Flippin Cemetary [sic] under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Yellville.

Mountain Echo, Yellville, AR 19 Aug 1987 Clyde PICKEL of 303 Ash Avenue, Grandview, Wash. died at the Walla Walla Veterans Hospital early Tuesday morning August the 11th following a brief illness. He was 71 years of age and was born at Yellville. He spent his early years and received his education in the Yellville-Flippin area. During World War II he served in the United States Army, having been in the Battle of Paris, France. He received the Purple Heart, the EAME Theatre Medal with one bronze star and the good Conduct Medal. On November 8, 1935 he married Miss Lou BEARDEN at Yellville. Together they lived in Arkansas until 1952 when they with their family moved to Grandview where he was employed as a Ranch Foreman for the Perham Fruit Company until he retired. His wife Lou PICKEL died September 2, 1986. Clyde PICKEL is survived by two sons, Harold PICKEL of Leavenworth, WA and Terry PICKEL of Portland, Oregon, 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, one sister, Miss Lucy PICKEL of Yellville, and one brother, Lester PICKEL of Alabama, and a large number of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one son Lynn PICKEL who died in June of 1982. Funeral services for Clyde PICKEL were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13 in the Chapel of the Smith Funeral Home Grandview. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home Grandview.

He was born Feb 22, 1916 in Marion County to Martha Bell (TREAT) and John RAY. He married Geneva MARTIN Sept 9, 1940 in Yellville. He is survived by his wife of Cotter, two sons Richard RAY of Summit and Larry RAY of Moundville, MO, one daughter Wanda DAVIDSON of Cotter, one brother Howard RAY of Cotter, two sisters Helen RORIE of Yellville and Lorene ROWE of Gassville, five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Cotter Volunteer Fire Department and the Cotter Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Sept 1 at Cotter Church of Christ with Brother Ronald DAVENPORT officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Fairview. Pallbearers were Wesley HARRIS, Lynn CROWNOVER, Howard CAMPBELL, Lee GRAY, Harold BATES and Harvey PARNELL. Honorary pallbearers were his nephews. Memorials may be made to the Cotter Church of Christ. Roller Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
